Returns, Refunds and Cancellation Policy

Last updated: May 2026

This policy applies to purchases made from Vintage Top Shelf at www.vintagetopshelf.co.uk. Please read it carefully before placing an order.

1. Your Statutory Rights

Your statutory rights as a consumer under UK law are not affected by anything in this policy. In particular, goods that are faulty, damaged in transit, misdescribed, or not of satisfactory quality are protected under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 regardless of the nature of the product. Because these are vintage printed periodicals, each listing includes a condition description. In addition to your statutory rights, we currently accept returns requested within 14 days of delivery, provided the item is returned in the same condition as supplied.

2. Nature of Our Products

Vintage Top Shelf sells original pre-owned vintage printed publications (magazines, books, calendars and related print media) as physical collectible goods. Because these are vintage pre-owned items, each listing includes photographs of the actual item and a condition description. These photographs and descriptions form part of the item description for the purposes of your purchase.

Normal age-related wear (yellowing, minor creasing, light fading, staple rust) that is consistent with the condition grade stated in the listing is not considered a defect.

3. Faulty, Damaged, Misdescribed or Not-As-Described Goods

If an item arrives damaged, is materially different from its description or photographs, or is otherwise faulty, you have the right to a full remedy under the Consumer Rights Act 2015. Please contact us within 7 days of delivery at info@vintagetopshelf.co.uk with:

  • Your order number
  • A description of the issue
  • Photographs clearly showing the damage or defect

We will work to resolve the matter promptly by offering a replacement (where available), a full or partial refund, or another agreed remedy. Return postage for faulty, damaged, or misdescribed items is met by Vintage Top Shelf.

4. Change-of-Mind Cancellation — Magazine and Periodical Items

Under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013 (Schedule 2(n)), individual physical newspapers, periodicals and magazines may fall within the statutory exception to the 14-day change-of-mind cancellation right. Where we assess that a particular item falls within this exception, we will inform you at the point of sale.

Please review all listing photographs and condition descriptions carefully before purchasing, as returns for change of mind may not be available for magazine items.

5. Change-of-Mind Cancellation — Other Eligible Goods

Where the statutory 14-day cancellation right applies to an item (for example, certain books, calendars, or other goods not falling within the periodical exception), you may cancel your order as follows:

Cancellation period

You must notify us of your intention to cancel within 14 calendar days of the day you (or a person you nominate) receive the goods.

How to notify us

Contact us at info@vintagetopshelf.co.uk with your order number and a clear statement that you wish to cancel. You may use the form below or any other clear written statement.

Returning the goods

You must return the item within 14 calendar days of notifying us of your cancellation. Items must be returned in the same condition as received, securely packaged. You are responsible for the cost of return postage unless the item is faulty, damaged, or misdescribed.

Condition of returned items

Returned items must not have been further damaged after delivery. Returns will not be accepted where the item has sustained additional damage in your possession.

6. Refunds

Once we have received the returned item and confirmed it is in the condition stated, we will process a refund within 14 calendar days of receiving the return, or within 14 days of receiving acceptable proof that the item has been dispatched to us, whichever is earlier.

Refunds will be made to the original payment method used for the order, unless we agree otherwise in writing. We will not charge a deduction for returning goods where the item is faulty, damaged, or misdescribed. Where a deduction for diminished value applies to an eligible change-of-mind return, we will notify you in advance.

7. Wrong Item Sent

If we dispatch the wrong item, contact us within 7 days of delivery. We will arrange return postage at our cost and either dispatch the correct item (subject to availability) or provide a full refund.

8. Returns Address

Return address details will be provided by email when your return is confirmed. Please do not return items without first contacting us.

9. Model Cancellation Form
